In Horti Conclusi, Sonya Douglas captures our imagination by garnering a mindful, yet somewhat voyeuristic exploration of a young woman’s life through her mobile ‘phone, discovered when she goes missing.
Setting the scene through clever use of a mobile phone available around 2005, we are taken back in time, navigating the story through the five-way keypad of that era. We engage first hand and are drawn into unravelling the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Annemarie Forrest, approaching the facts, discovering the character and the circumstances of her life from whichever starting point we select through that keypad.
